I think Nick Goram has one out at the moment, and also, Paul Hynes.

    Blk Adder

MCRU has a couple in his ebay shop. A two box £225 and one box £165. They may suit you.

Forgot to provide a link http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3513806993...%3AIT#shpCntId

Just quick question, is it possible to use a NAS like the suggested WD MyBookLive in purely LAN configuration?

It seems to have only one ethernet port so I'm guessing the pi would need a wireless adapter

    Cheers, James

This is another PSU for RPi, but how good is I don't know.

I'm also interested in good PSU for RPi so any suggestions, experiences and opinions will be helpful.

PS. Forgot to add that using a battery pack is another, maybe cheapest option and if someone has made some comparisons between battery and PSU it will be helpful as well. Thanks in advance!

James... my WD MybookLive NAS is connected to my router by ethernet cable and the Raspberry PI is plugged in via ethernet as well. The NAS gets an IP Address from the router as does the Raspberry PI. So all the data movement goes via wires not by any wireless method. Actually this is the main reason why I wanted to go the PI-DAC+ route.... as using my Apple Airport Express I was getting sound drop-outs and no HIDEF audio via wireless.

They don't make my version of the box anymore but this is the later version http://www.amazon.co.uk/WD-Cloud-Per...cp_computers_1 I think it is in line with the spirit of this thread.... excellent value for money.

Don't forget the advantage of going this route as opposed to a USB connected hard drive is that the NAS Box is available across the whole of your network. So I can play the same music files on my iPad or laptop for headphone listening in the other room.

The MyBookLive can do fancy stuff like streaming video (in fact I do so to my Samsung TV) but for the Raspberry PI its just a blooming big folder stuffed full of tunes

    Hope that helps...

Thanks very much for that as I did decide to go directly to the RuneAudio site as I noticed that they had a newer image labelled especially for a Raspberry PI2 (the newer quad core 1GB version I have). It was a bit unclear if there was much done to the configuration to take advantage of the higher specification PI but I decided to use that anyway. http://www.runeaudio.com/runeaudio-r...nd-cubietruck/

Later in the week I will come back to your post to see what I have to do to enable the iqAudio DAC. Cheers again

That's just what I wanted to hear.... But looking at the pictures on the link you provided it's only got one Ethernet port!
Or am I being an idiot and missing something stupidly simple?!

I think I've just worked it out....
Would I go: iMac (USB) - NAS (Ethernet) - router - pi (Ethernet)
