    Hi Jo,

See post #605, here, if it helps (although that is largely for Mac users: http://theartofsound.net/forum/showt...794#post635794

However, if you can't manually type in the required text/code, copy and paste it from your screen into the Volumio terminal instead, and that should work

Where do I paste it in to? I can't see any window in volumio where I can type code.

The code in Putty you said you had no problem logging in with last night:

    login - root

Rather than trying to manually type in the words "root" and "volumio", copy them from the screen instead and paste them into the appropriate places in Putty (when you gain access to the terminal), and hit the return key.

I sometimes have that problem myself, and get round it by copying and pasting, instead of typing in what's required, manually.

    yep, tried that... no dice.

It won't let me paste anything in...

It will let me type 'root' fine,

...then waits a few seconds and comes up with
root@192.168.1.2's password: !!!(I can't type anything at this point, it just hangs then comes up the the error message)
    Worked fine last night... wtf?

Ah, in that case, I can't help. Maybe try coming out of Putty and going back in again (or rebooting your computer), and see if that clears the problem?

That command is to connect to your RPi using SSH to login as the root user from a MAC or Linux machine, and, of course, assumes you have a network connection to your RPi. On Windows you have to use Putty, as you are.

    any ideas?
Have you lost your internet connection to your RPi? Can you still access the Volumio Web interface in a browser? Use the "ping" command at the Windows cmd prompt to check you still have a network connection to RPi.

    Hi Chris.

Yep, it's connected via Volumio and working fine. It's pinging fine too, nothing lost.

Still hangs on typing the password.

I will try the wired connection, see if it has anything to do with the wireless connection.
