Yes, it's how I'm using the RPi. I have the NSA320s and run LMS on the RPi using max2play. The RPi is controlled using iPeng on an ipad a much better way of playing, browsing and controlling your music than via the clunky web interfaces of Volumio/moode/rune etc.

The LMS level that Zyxel support is 7.7.1, and it's been edited to remove the heavy lifting stuff, so transcoding on the fly is a no can do scenario.
Serving 24/192 files is not a problem - the NSA310 is more than up to the job.
It also runs the latest iteration of Triode's iPlayer plugin (v1.3.1alpha3) without encountering any issues.

OT: A month's gone by. and after messing with all the earlier fixes for the AAC to HLS switch, I still haven't used the latest from Triode. Still wondering if he'll ever post at the slimdevices forum again.

There was a post in another thread that requires no knowledge of the thread you've posted, and took me literally 2 minutes to get iPlayer with the HLS streams working on my server.

Well my RPi 2, edimax USB WiFi dongle and SD card arrived today (via Amazon logistics who apparently deliver on bank holidays)

Still waiting for my IQ dac and case to come. Didn't get a chance to set it up today but am I right in thinking I can get some tunes out of the pi in the meantime by lashing it up to my Rega dacs USB port or should I just hold on until the iq dac arrives?

Would also be interested in knowing if the Pi can do USB out (or rather, **how** to do it) as I have an asynchronous USB receiver board fitted in my DAC ... though have to say the Digi+ is doing rather well with SPDIF. There **is** a very small difference in presentation between the Digi+ and my Audio Note CDT2/II transport but I'd be hard pressed to say which is better!
