Prior to my last post regarding power supplies for the Pi.
I have just put this together and sound quality has improved over the stock smps.
There seems a more natural relaxed quality to the sound so probably worth doing, for a cost of around £30.
LM350 regulators were used instead of the LM317's for their higher current rating.

Not at all. It actually arrived this morning, but I was busy today and have only just had a chance to hook it up.
Initial impressions are very positive indeed, but I shall refrain from commenting further until the PSU has warmed up/run-in properly and I've got a proper handle on what it's doing, but I think I can safely say that this baby has raised the bar quite significantly

How hot are those LM317 getting? You may find dropping the voltage a bit helps by using a 9v Tx...Prior to my last post regarding power supplies for the Pi.

Regarding the regulators they are bolted to the floor of my aluminium PiPre case.
Don't even get warm.
I believe a tracking preregulator likes a bit of headroom with voltage.
The Pi with Iqaudio pidac+ attached only consumes 330mA's when playing, with a Usb stick inserted this goes up to 412mA's.
Hang a couple of hard drives off this and it's going to increase considerably.
