    Hi Everyone

I was just wondering what your experiences were like with controlling the volumio software through a tablet or phone (on my network via wifi) ? As i am having terrible trouble trying to navigate around it (really really slow), if i want to scroll to an album in the browse tab for example it is near on impossible as it just won't scroll up or down, well it does but painfully slow to the point where it is unusable. If i log on to volumio through the desktop pc which is connected to the internet via a ethernet cable (fibre optic) it is just brilliant. The RPi is connected through an ethernet cable too.

Any thoughts would be really welcome.

    Thanks

I wonder if this is now the 'spiritual home' for the IQ-audio DAC?

    Ordered one btw...

Given the huge success of this thread, I'm seriously considering creating a separate area dedicated for discussions on the RPi/IQ-Audio DAC, such as we have now with the 'Techiepedia' (for the Technics SL-1200) and 'Beresford Banter' (for the Beresford DAC and other Beresford products).

This would go underneath the latter in the Digital Expressions area of the forum, where we can then collate all RPi/IQ-Audio DAC info and discussion thereof, for ease of reference.

What's the view on that, folks?

Well ever the contrarian I just kicked off a RPi project using not the IQ Audio DAC, but the HifiBerry Digi+board, which outputs SPDIF (and Toslink though that's not really of interest) so I can use it with the Audio Note DAC.

I've just started a separate thread on that build in Digital Expressions but quite a bit of the info from here will be relevant.

Some brave soul might want to think about pulling together an FAQ though as 84 pages (and growing) is hard to pan the nuggets out of.

You said you were going to do this weeks ago when I attempted to post on the Pi topic and Volumio.

Perhaps you have been a bit excited and forgotten.

Makes a lot of sense if people have separate threads according to topic, versions and types of software for example.

    Awaiting patiently

No, I've been otherwise occupied. It's called 'having a life'!

Plus, I wanted to make sure that it's what members wanted, not just me.

Good, so that's another vote 'for'. If we get plenty more, then it'll happen. However, any new area will need to be kept ACTIVE (and that means new posts made there every day), as otherwise it's a no-no.

    I'm not working next week.

If anyone fancies pitching the Pi-Q up against a Lampizator level 7 for interests sake, come round by all means. I'd like to hear what it can do versus a technically dodgy valve based piece of audiophile madness.

I do good coffee System should entertain you too.

Like a lamb (with the Lampi being the lamb?) to the slaughter maybe...

I'm sure the Pi-Q will do well by all accounts.

Anyway the offer is there to anyone with some spare time.
