No it's not going to work on the pi, but you could try one of the many client's that control a mpd server.

While waiting for my Pi 2 to arrive, I thought it'd be cool if I can gather all the infos first to ease things for me later on.

My Qs for now are :

How do we connect the Pi2 to the Caiman2 via I2S ?
What cables should I use. Any settings to be configured?

I believe it should sound better than the USB ones shouldn't it?

You have a choice: Via USB without any additional boards or via TOSLINK/COAX using a HiFiBerry Digi+ board or similar seen: https://www.hifiberry.com/digiplus/

I2S is the connection used for the TopHat add-on DAC boards...the most popular being the IQaudio DAC+ board everyone is waiting for......

Well, the Paul Hynes linear PSU, for the RPi, is winging its way to me now (should arrive on Friday). This is what Paul had to say about it:

The SR3DR5 I have sent is a 5v 3A output power supply. It is purely to replace the external switching power supply normally used with the Pi. It is not a straight forward linear power supply as it uses two SR3 voltage regulators in series internally to provide the higher supply line rejection and higher reverse transfer noise suppression (suppression of noise generated by the Pi, when data processing is active, that can feed back through power lines onto the mains supply). Combined with the regulation for the 3v3 and 1v8 rails, still to be implemented, this should give you similar supply line rejection and performance to the SL1210 upgrade.

If it provides anything like the sonic improvement his regulator modules did with my Technics T/T, I'll be well happy!
