Cheating I know but this review from an Amazon purchaser sums it up for me:
You'll have to excuse me but I'm going to be one of those bores who say "it isn't as good as the book". Being a bit of a weighty tome the book was always going to be a bit tricky to translate onto the screen and this adaptation suggests that a lot of the original scenes were cut out. If I hadn't read the novel, and therefore known the plot, I would have been thinking to myself "what the hell's going on" at the start of the film. That aside, it's still a marvellous story and Ralph Fiennes and Cate Blanchett provide almost the same Oscar and Lucinda that my imagination had conjured up. The main reason why I've marked the film down is that the original ending has been changed. We are let down gently rather than having to suffer the full force of life's injustice slapped across our face. A compromise has been made to cater for a crowd pleasing (fairly) happy ending.
Despite the leading actors, both of whom I greatly admire, I’m only giving it 5/10. It could well go back to the charity shop.

Blakes 7 season 1. Ah, Servalan! Must be one of the first TV shows to have the baddie played by a woman. She does it so well too!
Another memorable character is, of course, Avon. So droll! Blake, on the other hand, is rather forgettable.

ah Blakes 7! remember watching and enjoying it in the day. it was pretty low budget and the acting was dire yet it was hypnotic. some very enjoyae times back then tv wise.Originally Posted by Canetoad

Cary Grant, Leslie Caron and Trevor Howard star in the 1964 Grant vehicle, Father Goose. Not without its charms this film about the work & dangers of Island dwelling aircraft spotters in the Pacific ...Leslie is rather nice too
