However they are NOT Heresy Mk II's as stated, these are Mk I's...

Some may say that the originals are better but I have no idea on that as I have the Mk II's, all I do know is that these are potentially quite old, anywhere between about 1964-1985. Having said that the Heresy, along with most Klipsch's, are pretty tough so no real problem

If you have a 'flea' powered amp, then these will be a great match..

I am sorely tempted to grab these, I could hang 'em off my Mini-T, I reckon they'd be a match made in heaven and a significant step north from the Mission 760's it is driving just now...

The only Tannoy dc's I've had experience of was a rather expensive pair of mint DMT 15's and after a while I found them to be pretty rubbish to be honest..

Have you heard a pair Dave? They have a vibrant, lively character, but odd phase characteristics. Quite noticeable actually, probably due to horn lengths. Bass extension is not great either and there are colourations across the whole range. (sorry Bev, but I have heard them)

Well Dave I did run my Heresys with a T amp, which was pretty good but, of course, I had to go back to my Oto..

I thought you said that horn's were not your cup-of-tea?

If they don't go for too much I THINK you'd love them actually but then I am a complete convert to the Klipsch Heritage range...

Are they vibrant? well kind of but not in a nasty way (to my ears anyway!) they are VERY revealing, are they lively? well they can be I guess if the music is 'lively'..

As for the "odd phase characteristics".. I don't know what exactly that is to be honest!!!

Bass wise they don't go particularly low (MkII's are supposed to roll off at about 63Hz, according to Klipsch)... but as I now have a sub this is not a problem.. in fact it was never a problem even without the sub as I have nice neighbours and don't want to annoy them with too much bass... I have the sub set pretty low on the gain so there still isn't an annoying amount of bass, just enough to fill in.. I'd still be very happy to run them without the sub though, as I have for a long time..

I have no idea what they are saying but I THINK it sounds ok ...

Also if you want the most up-to-date version, the Mk III's, they are now about £800 EACH.. so £1,600 for a pair.. so they are not cheap speakers !!

I've had dozens of speakers over many years and the ONLY speakers I have purchased twice are the Heresys... They certainly suit my needs. It might be that they are just a super match for the Oto, I don't know, but I will certainly NOT be changing these for a long long time...

They aren't, however if the price is right I am certain I'd end up with speakers which would comfortable outperform the humble Missions, as good as they are. The frequency range of the two models is all but identical btw

All I can say Dave is that these are my second pair of Heresy II's and I should NEVER have sold my originals, but you live and learn don't you ?

The ONLY other speaker I would have again is a pair of Quad ESL 57/63's... but I just don't have room for them at the moment or I would have another pair in a heart beat... oh also my Oto would definitely not drive them..

Go for the Klipsch Dave... and then blame me if you don't like them...
