If it was something simple (like a blown fuse or a component in the crossover) then it would be worth the punt, but if it is a fault with one of the panels then that would far more serious and repair probably beyond the capabilities of the average DIYer.
Hope the buyer manages to fix them: I've always had a soft spot for Magnaplanar speakers.

Class A bargain amps. A pair of Monarchy Audio SM-70 Pro power amps. Use for bi-amping or as monoblocks. I have one driving my Tannoys and it really sounds superb!! In sound terms, at the price, nothing will come close to these.
