Hehe, it may look like quite a few but most are budget models. Yes the DC200's are best forgotten ! I would like to try some "proper" Tannoy's but things just haven't come together yet... I'm sure their time will come Of those listed I still own the B&W D5 & Monitor Audio B1... I'm currently in the market for another pair of speakers but haven't decided which direction to take yet. The D5's are doing a sterling job whilst I make up my mind.

+1 re. the AR3a and AR2ax speakers.

Currently one of the biggest bargains in retro hifi IMO. I do wish a current manufacturer would produce a proper sized, 3 way acoustic suspension standmount... With modern driver tech I daresay they could be quite superb but we'll just have to make do with the still rather spiffing originals

Very much agree. If they could be retailed at under a grand they would be first in a field of one.

Blurry 'ell, I thought we were talking ten!!! I haven't broken double figures over an entire lifetime. maybe I was lucky to find my perfect speaker early on.

Well worth hanging onto. Better than the DM4 which remains a popular 'classic' (for reasons I can't fathom).

They're not bad at all - I do [did] like the DM4 but despite being a technically inferior design the D5 has the musical edge which at the end of the day is what its all about.
