    Be very interested to hear your comparisons vs. the Meridian Geoff, the DV-717 is just as serious a transport under the hood...

    Well the whole system is apart at the moment, so I can get the TV on the wall. Once I get it all rigged up again I shall make the comparison. But I can't see a DVD player that cost me £22.50 bettering a Meridian that I spent £1200 on.
    It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

    It did retail at £650 in the 90s though... In any case looks like a great cheap as chips TV setup you've just bought.
