    ...got the new jack sockets in the post this morning. Stripped off all the insulating tape and fitted the bulb to the new female socket. Even though the wires from the grain of wheat bulb are thin these sockets have an ingenious clamping method which holds the wires in very well.

    Very pleased with these Jerry. With the taped up bulb occasionally I would get a faulty connection - with this new socket it hopefully should be much better.

    The new jack socket work well as you said Adam. I leave the Anker plugged in all the time and I dont like leaving the grain of wheat bulb on as it gets hot. I might add a micro switch of some sort and stick it all in a box.
    Anyway its all sounding really good atm.
    I wonder what Stan has around the corner. I wonder if he has tried the Sabre dac yet?
