Don't say that. I'll be staying in Cornwall for a while from next week. Thought I might scout round for bargains. There are a few good auction houses there.

You might get lucky Geoff, everything seems to be priced daft here !

Two places worth your time, Camborne indoor market has a hifi "shop" thats stacked to the ceiling with gear or was last time I went there & a little second hand shop in Penzance, I can't recall the name but its pretty much opposite the train station... They have the odd interesting thing.

Have you been to Gravesend? I wouldn't go there to pick up anything. It's The Land Time Forgot. It's awkward to get to and the landscape resembles the opening scenes of the film 'Terminator', all bleak and devastated.

I know exactly what James means, the hi-fi bargains are very few and far between down this neck of the woods. Plymouth used to be a good source but even that is gradually drying up.

Just get yersel fat on a few pasties

That pretty much describes any place east of Bath. You can keep it.

I know the Camborne market, but don't remember any Hi-Fi there. Can't say I've seen the Penzance shop though, I'll check it out, I'll be in Helston most days and Penzance is only up the road. The David Lay auction house in Penzance is worth a visit when they have a general goods auction. They get the occasional interesting bit of Hi-Fi. Loads of other stuff too, I bought a nice, rare nineteen fifties German air rifle for £20 last time I popped in, it was worth a hell of a lot more.

Those are more recent 'White Van Man' speakers. Sometimes seen in markets too. Nasty!
