Very nice, but shouldn't it be a BD2 if it's in the plinth? I used to have one with an SME 3009-II and Rega glass mat. A very underrated little deck.

No, the BD2 was the integrated unit with full width steel top plate sporting the SAU2 pickup arm. I've owned many of both. I still have a BD1 tucked away (and enough spares to run it for a century). They can sound very good indeed set up properly.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

    Ah, I stand corrected.

Didn't like the SAU2 arm much, it used to change azimuth across its arc of travel

I don't like it either. It's the dual diagonal gimbal pivots that cause this --- Nasty!

Love mine, sounded stifled in the original cabs, but in the pair of rear horn/TL type cabs my friend designed the 10" hpd's sound amazing!
The origional cabs hold these back alot in my opinion. Fantastic drivers though, some say the best of the tannoy DC's! I guess that depends what size room your trying to drive.

Even in the same town (my home town) that mine were in sice the day they were bought new
