I have a Matrix Mosfet PA power amp. Stonking build quality and great sound. I would not be surprised if the power amp stage of the domestic amp was similar.

Hmm, the Hitachi MOSFET application circuit results in a very dry, flat and boring sounding amp. I tried it many years ago. Also the big Hitachi amp of the time was not a great sounding unit. There are other ways to make MOSFETs work well.

Looking on the 'net, Musical Fidelity's Synthesis integrated amp was said to be a basic interperatation of Hitachi's application and was well regarded in the '80s.
