Hmm... he sees another advert that describes them as extremely rare and repeats it parrot fashion.

And hence a new truth is born!

Maybe they are, although a slight model difference (tweeter - which was probably discontinued or changed due to criticism even) doesn't mean that rare is good.

Well, i guess that they sold for less than DM5's might mean something.

The D5 is rare, especially in that kind of condition. They are seldom seen for sale.

I've owned them and the DM4. They are totally different and the D5 is the cleaner sounding and smoother of the two. Unlike the DM4, the D5 is a smaller sealed cabinet speaker and the drive units are different too. The D5 was B&Ws first proper 'bookshelf' speaker and they put some effort into getting it right (the little DM1 was about the same size, but originally aimed at the professional market as a small monitor).

The DM5 was a slightly later model and larger. Some similarity in drivers though.

Nice looking pair of Tannoy Sandringham Speakers on ebay. My father owned Tannoy Sandringham's before, they are indeed nice speakers.

Apparently this is a "Sony intergrated amp" (not my spelling)! It looks exactly like a Pioneer integrated amplifier.
