Maybe the team dynamics in Red Bull and Mercedes are different because of the relative ages of the team principals to the drivers. Ross Brawn is old enough to be Lewis and Nico's dad, Christian Horner is more like a slightly older brother. Who would you be most likely to obey?

But, of course, Vettel just could be a selfish arsehole. It's easy to apologise when you've banked the points . . .

What should (but won't) happen is for Red Bull to sideline Vettel for China, and get someone like Kobyashi in for the race. Chances are Red Bull would still get points . . .

I think I would have greater respect for vettel if he hadn't attempted to pretend that he didn't hear or didn't understand that the team expected him to hold station after the last round of pitstops. An apology that includes a blatant lie is no apology at all, and personally anyone showing such a lack of personal integrity is not to be trusted ever again, and deserves to be told flat out exactly what their actions make them.

He seems to have decided that closing on Webber gave him full justification to overtake him, despite the fact that it was Webber obeying team orders by saving the engine and tyres that allowed him to get on his tail anyway. I was struggling to like him despite respecting his undoubted gifts as a racer before this, but this shows him to be a petulant childish egoist and someone who would screw you at the drop of a hat if it suits him. His lack of personal integrity and discipline could well prove his undoing.

    Cheers,
    A.

And the decision of the team to leave Alonso out with a broken front wing supports was totally irresponsible and an unforgivable lapse by Ferrari. He was very lucky that it didn't break a few hundred metres later deep into the braking zone as he would have hit the barrier at a very high speed. Their telemetry and the tv pictures provided all the info they needed to safeguard their driver and if Alonso made the call they should have overridden him on safety grounds.. no ifs or buts.

    Cheers,

About the Force India wheel nut issue. Aren't they held captive in the wheel? And are the wheels the same for every car? Or do Pirelli come and fit the tyres to a team's own rims, rather than just turn up with a load of wheels pre-fitted?

    So many questions . .

I believe the wheels are the teams' own designs.

Unfortunately, he is going the way of Schumacher, who also made himself very difficult to like.

I look forward to the next time there's a situation where Webber and Vettel want the same piece of track. Vettel didn't think through the consequences, it could cost him a non-finish. If Horner doesn't sort this out there will be trouble. He could get Vettel to agree to give up a win when they are next 1-2, that's about the only way to prevent Webber pushing Vettel off the track in future races.
