Madness live, starting off the "Goodbye Television Centre" theme, were also very good.

Felt sorry for both the musicians and the audience. The venue was just outside Television Centre. It was raining and the horn players were wearing gloves!

Very sad to see TVC close. The building is now old-fashioned, and not suited to modern TV production and would cost a fortune to refurbish and modernise technically, but part of the country's heritage is being lost. Just another act of establishment vandalism.

Enjoyed the Dr. Feelgood item. Sadly Wilco has been diagnosed with terminal pancriatic cancer and has decided not to have treatment.

When you look back at the '70s and the diversity of music there was, it was quite astonishing really. It must have been the most creative decade for music we're ever likely to see.

You're right of course saying there was crap. But it couldn't all be great. When you think about the charts you could have a mix of allsorts: rock/glam rock/pop/folk/comedy/disco/instrumental/country/punk. Allsorts.
