    That's why I'd be checking the records out first, before bidding - and I mean checking them out... I'd be spending a few hours in there, on my hands and knees, going through as many as I could!!!

    Most other folk wouldn't go to that bother and would just bid low to take a punt, and so if they were any good, I'd end up with a serious bargain!

Isonoe feet & boots. Ortofon RS-212D tonearm with Denon DL-103GL, in a Denon PCL-300 headshell, fitted with Funk Firm Houdini and Kondo SL-115 pure-silver cartridge leads.

    Paul Hynes MC head amp/SR5 PSU. Also modded Lentek head amp and Denon AU-310 SUT.

    CD Player: Audiocom-modified Sony X-777ES/DAS-R1 DAC.

    Tape Deck: Tandberg TCD 310, fully restored and recalibrated as new by RDE, plus upgraded with heads from the TCD-420a. Also with matching TM4 Norway microphones.

    Preamps: Heavily-modified Croft Charisma-X. Power Amps: Tube Distinctions Copper Amp, fitted with Tungsol KT-150s. Quad 306.

    Cables & Sundries: Mark Grant HDX1 interconnects and digital coaxial cable, plus Mark Grant 6mm UP-LCOFC Van Damme speaker cable. MCRU 'Ultimate' mains leads. Lehmann clone headphone amp with vintage Koss PRO-4AAA headphones.

    Tube Distinctions digital noise filter. VPI HW16.5 record cleaning machine.

    Speakers: Tannoy 15MGs in Lockwood cabinets with modified crossovers. 1967 Celestion Ditton 15.

    Sometimes its what you DONT buy which makes your record collection special. I have 700 albums, all carefully chosen. It would do my head in if I had to go through each of those.

    With you there Andrew. I only have about 900 LP's these days, all carefully chosen. I had so many i didn't play or were scratched to death but had a sentimental value. They just had to go.

    I have about 300 CDs and about the same number of LPs. I just won't keep anything I don't play (I've got rid of loads).
    It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!
