I used to have Mordaunt-Shorts attempt to revive the elliptical driver

They were surprisingly good but the elliptical drivers look like 6x9 parcel shelf screamers

It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

Frankly, the headshell on the eBay item that appears to have been knocked up in a GCSE woodwork class does the arm no favours at all IMHO.

The Gates are still awaiting attention. At the moment I'm concentrating on selling some unwanted items to clear the study and replenish the coffers a bit! I'm also awaiting feedback from a friend who's having an idler wheel refurbished as both Gates idlers need re-doing. If he's happy with the work done for him, then they'll be heading to the same place.

Trouble is, if I try and stick to my 'first in-first out' principle there are two and a half pairs of speakers and an ex-BBC Technics SP10 that ought to be sorted out first!
Is this what it should look like? Looks neat.

I hope people are bidding on this for nostalgic reasons and not because they think it will sound nice.

Here we go again. More lunatic bidding on Goodmans Maxims. They just ain't worth it! Wonder where the bids on this pair will end up.

There's a "Buy Now" pair for £600. But I'm too tired to go back and look for them.
