Been spinning some new Christmas vinyl: Greenday "American Idiot", Joni Mitchell "The Hissing of Summer Lawns", and :
I've seen secondhand copies of this on eBay for upwards of £100, so this Speakers Corner reissue was a cost effective alternative for SWMBO. Sounds terrific . . .
I was playing it just yesterday, Bob. I found my vinyl copy in the US for a lot less than that, and the XRCD version on Amazon for about £40.

It certainly is good, Martin. The music was more familiar than I thought it would be, as I have a number of guitar recital discs with the original pieces. But it is a gem.

I've been in a Schuberty piano mood of late, and have played quite a few sonatas from this set.
Deyanova has a way of her own with these sonatas and she is probably a marmite Scubert interpreter - some will love her playing, some will hate it. I doubt there would be many sitting on the fence!
Personally, I like it a lot - she has clearly been influenced by Sviatoslav Richter - another of my fave Schubert interpreters.
Great sq from Nimbus, too.

Yep - ridiculously explosive dynamics - once I had recovered from concussion resulting from being slammed into the back wall, it made me laugh out loud when I heard it on Martin's system.I was playing it just yesterday, Bob.
