How do I service my bearing ?

I have a 1200 MK11

And some new oil , cant find any info on how to clean out the bearing a re lube with Audio Origami oil

Any pointers please

No help as the instructions sent out are for a Torrens belt drive TT

and thats the only instructions he has

hi

its more or less the same operation for any deck

remove any old oil with the cotton buds and lint free cloth

clean the shaft and bearing with the other lint free cloth

once everything is clean add a few drops of oil to shaft and bearings area and fit the bearing together and do a test spin make sure its perfectly free

most decks have a captive bearing house that can hold a well of oil...if your bearing is the open type and does not hold a well of oil a generous coating of oil on the surfaces will last for 6 months or so

Th spindle won't pull, as there's a retaining clip on the spindle to stop it being pulled pulled out.
You need to dismantle much of the deck to get at the bearing.

I'm certain that Technics didn't intend for owners to dismantle the deck to lube the bearing, so I'd remove the platter and pull the spindle gently upward until it stops.
I'd then apply a few drops of oil where the spindle enters the main bearing housing.

You are correct , I just found a PDF file on the 1200 MK11 and it shows the bearing being oiled that way , It says 2-3 drop's every 2000 hours so will do it again next week
