Well, tomorrow I'm off with Shane (southall-1998) to Hounslow to collect his latest eBay bargain:

A pair of Mordaunt Short Pageant 2 speakers from the seventies, all for the huge sum of £2.54.
I'd spotted these not drawing much attention from eBay bidders and I might have bought them myself if I had room for them, anyway I thought I'd tell Shane about them and he won them.
Nice speakers these and definitely a bit of a classic.
Wow, what a bargainI recall the Pageant's getting an excellent write up in Practical HiFi many years ago. In fact they didn't have a bad thing to say about them other than they would rather have seen a more meaty set of speaker terminals fitted as the ones provided precluded the use of thicker, high end cables. There was particular praise for their openness and imaging abilities IIRC. Congratulations Shane!!!

yeh i can think of a lot better ways to spend #400, half a pair of NS1000 m's for a start.

wonder what the little switches on the back do ?? they are above the speaker terminals.....The treble is a bit sharp...
