I like the furniture they're also trying to flog - this person obviously has a fine grasp of spelling!
'Leather Cities'....well OK, cities is a proper word, so maybe 1/2 a point for remembering that, but further down in the description they have another go.......'3 Leather Seaties'

Take a look at the pictures & you see it's 2 cities.........seaties........sofas and 1 chair.
Gawd bless 'em & good luck to 'em!

LOL - I find the idea of a leather city rather intriguing!

It often astonishes me that people don't take a little care over their eBay listings before posting them. It's not as if the Technics legend doesn't appear on the top plate

A Mint 'Technique Turntable'. Only £150 and looks completely minto..

Obviously it's a 1210.. with luck most people will not find it unless trawling through as it will defeat many searches. Collection only will also limit the bidders.
Name of Sanjay and has a Buy it Now prie of £180 - well worth a punt if you're in the market and can collect - CoD - no likey, no deal?

    My System:
Power: Belkin PF40, Custom.hifi.cables Hydra and DC PSUs.
Sources: Self built HTPC with Xonar ST sound card, NAD T585 multi disc player, Sony BDP-S350, Squeezebox Touch, Techncs SL1210 (mod'd) + Nagaoka MP30, Thomson Sky HD box.
    Amps etc.: 2 x Mini-T amps, MF-X10D Valve buffer clone, StanDAC 7520/Caiman (mod'd).
Speakers: Mission 774s with added super tweeters
Cables: best I can afford and likely to change except Homar's RF attenuated co-ax's and Mark Grant USB and HDMI cables. I also like silver i/cs and speaker cable.

    A bargain on eBay?

You may have noticed the extremely rare Tannoy 3128 Cheviots that were listed on eBay until this morning (see thumbnail). I put in a winning offer of £500 on these.

These are the last model of Cheviot and very few were made. The 3128 driver is the same 12" dual concentric unit as used in the Tannoy Balmoral and it is a long throw, low resonance version of the SRM/LRM series 12" driver. This unit is one of Tannoys better efforts and can sound outstanding.

I have yet to pick these up and although they work, I believe they may need new cone surrounds (not a big deal). I'll check/service the crossovers and maybe rewire with some good cable. The cabinets are supposed to be basically sound, but need a bit of a cosmetic tidy. I'll keep them looking standard as they are an exact match to my Tannoy Eatons. I'm looking forward to giving these a whirl.

This means I'll need to make some room, so unfortunately I'll probably have to sell my gorgeous Tannoy System 1000s. Any offers?

    Geoff.

    Hi Phil,

I've already owned Devons. Wasn't keen, it may have just been my pair but they weren't a patch on the Eatons for smoothness and seemed to lack bass extension, probably due to the driver being too large for the smallish cabinet.

I also had the HPD Cheviot, which were better but still coarse at the top end, nowhere near as good as the Eatons or the Monitor Gold Chatsworths I'd also owned. Even my previous old IIILZs (4 pairs) were better through the treble.

Never really had a room big enough for the Berkleys. That day may come, but instead of Berkleys, I'd be scouring eBay and the dealers for a pair of 15" Monitor Gold Lancasters, which I'd internally brace and rewire!
