Oh yes Simon looking great, very nice job. What damping did you add inside and where.
I removed all the dacron from the horn chamber and also from the rear of the drivers. I packed dacron in all the other cavities not used in sound reproduction or air movement. The only damping I used was thick rubber backed carpet squares on the rear baffle cavity facing the driver.
I have no doubt the sound dynamics will change completly with the addition of bases, treble tweaking etc

Thanks Dave, good to hear from you. Only had then running for 5 or 6 days so the re coned drive units and cross overs need a little time to burn in but my experiments with damping have lead to none at all, still some work to do as you say,listening to the different filters in the cross over, fitting the bases (doing that today) and fitting some good quality speaker connections to the backs as i have the units hard wired to the cross overs as it stands and taking some measurements/cross over tweaks.

Great speakers, well worth the work-whole new listening experience!

Simon how is that tweaking going mate, I've got to say my system is still evolving, the sound is improving (if it's possible)......it was already amazing
Just replaced my power supply on my Linn with a Hercules. I can't believe the spaciousness, the sound stage, sharpness in bass and treble.
I wouldn't have believed something as simple as a power supply could make such an improvement to the music.

Are you still using that QED Silver Anniversary inside your speakers? If so, can I suggest you try experimenting with something else? It need not be expensive, but I would really recommend you try an alternative - you might be surprised.

Am using the original cross overs as it stands, am living with them fine but do have an active cross over on its way which should be interesting.
Very happy with these speakers as it stands, they now measure very well especially in the bass and low mids which i have been told is testament to the build quality. I used to use an LP12 but now have a Well Tempered which suits me, it is a deck that i would find hard to fault.
Am looking into a Audio Note DAC 3 for future digital source and also am starting another speaker build.
I have not experimented with internal wiring but as Chris mentions may well be worth a play, i might have a go at that to...are your drivers hard wired?
