Random bike shots from the north..

Tuesday made 124km ride with my Gianni Motta. After 80k kept small break at the town Muhos to have a sandwitch and some lemonade. Soon after had to turn back home earlier than had planned as the frame started awkward noise and spotted a small crack near the old welding point. Unfortunately that has been already once repaired and as the crack is at the chainstay it might be that it is something cannot be fixed anymore..

So here is my version of the last supper

During the ride checked out the local alleycat races, had a few beers with friends and did a nice night ride back to the summer house via the Crimean War monument and one nice beach..

Why does a town in Finland have a Crimean War monument?

Most of the conflict of course took place on the Crimean Peninsula, but there were several smaller war campaigns in western Anatolia, Caucasus, the Baltic Sea, the Pacific Ocean and the White Sea linked to the same origin. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crimean_War#Baltic_theatre

The pic of the monument was taken at Halkokari beach in the town Kokkola, where British and French fleets attacks were repulsed 1954.

Oops! That year 1954 should naturally be the year 1854..

lol didn't want to mention that - although the UK did declare war on Finland in 1941, I don't think there was any direct conflict.
