Waiting with anticipation for your review of the Funk Art acrylic platter. I heard it at the Whittlebury Show with the Funk modded Tech arm against the stock platter with Oyiade mat and SME309 arm...... absolutely no doubt in my mind that I prefered the Oyiade + stock platter, but of course different arms and different cartridges were being used which must have had a contributory influence and, as always, there is personal preferences to take into account?

I would be interested in your comparison of bass performance for instance?
Did you know that Mike New Audio actually machined a trial acrylic plater to judge performance, I'll leave him to opinion his findings if he should read this post and is of a mind to respond?

Ermm, wheres the Mains Cable R Us platter that David periodically mentions or is this now a cancelled project?

Finally, if you prefer the acrylic platter let me buy your MN platter off you, on bended knee pretty please, thank you beforehand

I now have the Funk platter in my possession, so preliminary thoughts will be revealed after the weekend, most likely on Monday. Tomorrow, I'm going down to Martin T's with my T/T (with its new Ortofon arm) and will be doing the platter test there, amongst other things, (so you'll also have his opinion), so hang tight, amigo!

No worries about the MN platter, should I prefer the Funk one, although I doubt I'll be making that sort of decision until I've lived with the Funk one for at least a week, or so, and then swapped back, evaluated things thoroughly and come to a thorough and conclusive decision

Not cancelled by any means but I have that much going on it's still on-going, I expect to have it ready before christmas. It is totally unique and does not involve copper or acrylic so not a copycat as far as I can tell.

I heard the Mike New on Marcos TT a while ago, I think the 3 options of Acylic/MN/Oyaide have to be taken on their own merits with the arms/carts used as well, there are far too many variables to say this is by far the best, I think the Oyaide is one of the best solutions ever invented for TT's period but of course I would say that wouldn't I!

Absolutely, David. And that's always going to be the key factor! All you can do is report what you hear, in the hope that anyone interested will obtain similar results

On a similar note - Will be great when / if someone gives their findings re: the Funk arm particularly over the stock Techie arm or otherwise for that matter. In the meantime looking forward to Marco's experience and expressions re: the Funk Platter

I bought it (MN) and love it. Heard the Funk platter but prefer my MN.... that also says something I guess... its the old different strokes for different blokes thing

On the surface of it the FF platter does seem to make more sense as it keeps mass closer to that of the original
