Really excellent SF love story, well acted by Matt Damon (showing his feminine side) and a stunning looking Emily Blunt playing the chased woman that fate has deemed he can't be with. Great ideas, well executed and not at all sentimental, just different.

An old fashioned film in its vibe but excellent, superb.

I’ve just watched Laputa-Castle In The Sky and been completely charmed by it.
What a pleasant change not to be spoon fed the usual sickly and largely unoriginal fare so often served up by Disney.
Cant recommend it highly enough, whatever age you think you are.

I remember watching that film as a kid and being completely blown away. It's proper old school anime with a great story. I've kept meaning to pick up a copy but never got round to it. Where did you get it from?

I got given it at Christmas along with a couple of other movies all on a USB stick.
The stick was the present.....i think

Just watched 'Devil' by M Night Shalaman.

Excellent film imho and sees him returning to issues of theology, in a similar way to Signs, i.e the boggie man in the film is not really what the film is about but a device to let MNS pose questions and possible answers. Interesting and well worth watching.

I take it you enjoyed the film then Martin? Just asking as while our film tastes don't cross all the time, I do find they are broadly similar

Besides which this film doesn't command a premium on ebay so it seems

Sounds like my kind of thing, though I'd still value your input on the storyline myself

So is it a goodun? Or at least worthy of consideration on BD

It's very good indeed, Mark, and what's more Ruth really enjoyed it last night (I watched it again with her) and she doesn't like SF.

It's based on a Philip K. Dick short story and he can do no wrong in my eyes. It's well created as I said earlier, great to watch and Emily Blunt is just incredibly alluring. A very good alternative love story with some ideas that will make you think for a while.

Just watched the classic 'Time Machine' (1960: Rod Taylor, Yvette Mimieux etc..)
