    Default Croft micro 25 RS

    Hi

I will try some other valve in the regulated section. (ecc83)

Is this Full Music 12AX7 good, The Mullard cv4004 is very hard to find.

I have tried many different valves in my Croft 25R including NOS Telefunken, Brimar, Mullard, Philips Miniwatt, EI and for me the finest by far have been NOS RCA 12AX7A (7025). I have a couple of matched pairs if you are interested. I can also highly recommend GE A2900 or Brimar 6060 Yellow T instead of the ECC81 in the gain stage - I have a few Brimar Yellow T's left as well.

    Hi Steve
My Croft use in the line stage ecc83 or 12bh7a. Not ecc81.

Is the RCA ecc83 (7025) sounding dark ?

Not at all dark - sort of a mixture of the best attributes of a Mullard ECC83 and TFK 12AX7 without the (for me) overly warm Mullard and overly bright TFK - perfect in my setup.
