Looked to be in excellent condition as well Though one looked a little sun bleached compared to the other..

I would have agreed with that a while ago, but as Spendor BC1's are now fetching over £300, and I prefer the DM4, they are pretty good value.

At the moment, I have a pair of DM4's running, fed from the Quad 303 (with the increased output stage bias) and that is fed from the pre out of a NAD 3130. Amongst the best sounds that I've had.

Sacrilege, do I recall that you broke up the DM2a's?

To be fair, I broke up a pair of DM2's, they were nearly twice as heavy as standard ones. The cabinets were poor and the previous owner covered the original cabinets with 3/4" solid pine.

This made them even bigger as well as heavier!

A pair of my DM2's or DM2a's and a pair of Ditton 44 will be coming up to Sheffield, I'm giving to my friend. It's a sort of trade, he's going to cut down a tree in my garden. It has to be done, tree is too near house.
