Pipe Organ Music

I heard a thing on Radio 4 a few months back about the sad state of the organ at the Royal Festival Hall. They made reference recordings before and after a good number of the pipes were removed to facilitate the modernisation of the acoustic treatments in the RFH. As it stands the organ is a pale imitation of it's once grand self, and 5000 pipes are still not fitted!

Yes, I've been underwhelmed with that organ on a number of occasions, never more so than a wonderful performance of the Saint-Saens Symphony No.3 by the RPO, where the organ's entry in the 2nd movement was so disappointing.

As for your JR149s, I think a little augmentation will help sir's appreciation of the fundamentals - how about a nice REL? Unfortunately, I sold my Studio II a couple of years ago as surplus to requirements.

A REL would certainly be nice, but I suspect it would also be a little out of my price range! Ah well; I will continue to see if I can find a Rogers 'occasional table' at a knock down price (lol!).
