He didn't say, and i thought it rude to ask but he got one for spares as well, they filled a artic trailer, it was rated at 450 hp but ran up to 1000hp under a presured system, 23.5 gallons per hour consumption, not for the faint hearted.

If you like big engines take a visit here sometime, i have passed on a few engines to the owner Paul Evans whos a really nice guy, we are plannning on doing a club visit next year ourselves

On a business trip to Sweden, I once saw something similar to that being used to drive a wood chipper - that was knocking out just over 1,000 hp, I was told. It could turn a 70 yr old pine tree into a pile of flakes in about 12 seconds!

To sort of bring the thread back on topic. The following is a bargain although collection only.

Now when we are looking at value for money I think our hobby short changes us. I mean a new Naim NAP 250 is more money and obviously less work to produce.

That seems very cheap to me for a full size one

Indeed I think the problem is that although its runs on Standard Gauge Track the loading gauge is European which is larger than the UK loading gauge. I suspect you would have to keep the loco at its present location which one of the few Heritage Lines that can run European loading gauge. Perhaps its like running B&W 801s with SET apps. Its all hifi but its not all fully compatible despite initial appearance.
