Custom Arm Mounting Collar for Jelco SA-750 - essential for setting correct azimuth

My collar arrived yesterday - thank you Hugo - it looks very well engineered - a nice piece of kit - I will await the long grub screw before installing as I suspect I will need it as I do have a recessed TS arm board.

I'm sure that I put the longer grub screw in your collar. If it's made of stainless steel, then it's the correct one.

Yes mine is SS - 11mm in length.

So much easier to set my deck up now.
Sibilance is much less and the highs have more extension now VTA is set properly. I can now appreciate the Jelco arm over the standard arm much better.

Just fitted my collar - perfect. Beautifully engineered, superb fit and arm pillar nips up lovely - so easy to adjust I have used the nylon bush as it seemed eminently sensible. The grub screw is easily accessible esp with the long allen key (nice touch).

Although probably not important having fitted the new collar I took the opportunity to open out the plinth below the arm and secure the arm cable and PSU DC power cable with 3 P-clips - obviously not being a suspended design a la Linn it wont make any sonic difference but it tidies the cables up and in particular prevents any drag on the arm cable.

Just been listening to the system with Hugo's collar installed (wanted to last night but power lines blown down and area-wide power outage )

Anyway, sound has improved immeasurably in pretty much all areas but particularly high frequencies. Presentation seems tighter with more control and focus - am also hearing fine low-level detail not heard before. I assume this is down to better mating of tonearm pillar and deck and better azimuth control.

It also looks very professional.

Very pleased

IMHO this is a must have if you own a Jelco SA 750D

I was directed here by Graham (gthang) and would certainly like to get one of these collars. I am a member of the Lenco forum, and I imagine there would be other members there with Jelco arms who would also be interested. I'd be happy to gauge interest there and let you know.
