Indeed. However, it's precisely for those 'A to Z moments' that we use the sat nav.

Barry, no thoughts on post 158?

I'd use RAC route planner, sometimes that would advise getting a ferry to France or Ireland, driving across them, then getting a ferry back to England. Just to avoid travelling on B roads. Total madness, but that was 20 years ago I'm guessing they're better now.
Sorry, mate, when you say "they're", do you mean B roads or ferries?

This thread has deviated significantly from my original intention. Obviously it is wonderful to have Marco posting here again - and displaying AoS's notorious thread drift, but if there are no more suggestions from Members as to how we can improve the Forum, increase traffic and attract new members, then perhaps it ought to be closed.

Not at all, mate. Thread drift is what it's all about, as that's how real-life conversations evolve. No-one sticks rigidly to the same topic of conversation in a pub, do they?

And I'd still like your thoughts on post 158 (second time of asking now), specifically what you dislike about driving.

So you want to close the thread that is actually increasing current forum traffic?

The increase in traffic is entirely due to Marco's return. What I was looking for were ideas on how to improve the Forum, attract new members, as well as increasing traffic.

It wasn't obvious that you had asked a question. But to give you an answer: it is because, IMO, the standard of driving and the courtesy shown to other road users in this country has fallen to an abysmally low level in the last five years or so. I find no pleasure in driving now, and only do it when I have to.

No worries, I thought you might've challenged my post 158, by defending your P.O.V.

I completely agree... And where are such scumbags usually found? On motorways!

Town centres certainly aren't exempt, though. Try some B roads, Barry, you'll find a better class of driver there

In any case, a man of distinction, such as you, should be employing a chauffeur! I know you've done it before...
