Same in my kitchen in the winter. Humidity 80 percent, run the dehumidifier for a few hours, down to 70. Empty a pint or more of water out of it. Half an hour later (with it switched off) back to 80 again.
Long term it has dried the place out a bit, no longer gets into the 90s. When I first got it I was emptying about a gallon a day out of it for the first week.
