Made before Marc Bolan went solo, and all the better for it.

Agree 100% Barry . . . moved on to this now. I have many memories attached to this record, some good, some bad - but I love the album.

I'm not aware of a time when Bolan went solo, or do you mean when he shortened the name to T.Rex, starting with Ride a White Swan? I know you're not exactly a fan of "Electric "Warrior", which happens to be the first album I ever bought, and still play today

I did also have "A Beard of Stars" back then, but I haven't heard it in 50-odd years and I'm not sure what I'd think about it now.
I just dropped in, to see what condition my condition was in

The Wikipedia page gives a good history of the group, the change of name, and the change of music style.

I took your comment to mean when Bolan parted company with Steve Peregrin Took, so I know what you meant . . . if that was what you meant

That's SPT on the cover of Prophets, Seers & Sages with Bolan Steve, in case you weren't aware.

Yes I was aware Tim, though perhaps not as aware as I used to be In my school days you were in either the Slade camp or the T.Rex camp. I was definitely in the latter. Though I came to like Slade a little bit when I got older.

Never been heavily into this band, I only ever had 'In Rock' and 'Machine Head' on vinyl.

Got 'Made In Japan' only a few years back and slowly coming to terms with why so many people rate it.
