Just too 'out there'. I like heavy but it has to be at least slightly melodic. Not my age, I've always been the same.

Totally understand that. I find them similar to bands like Ramones and Television, so not so "out there" in my world but, hey, we're all different, and as long as we enjoy the music, we all win.
