I have a Rega Aria Mk2 phono for the LP's and I can simply swap the tape deck into the analogue input on the rare occasions I want to play cassettes.

I understand that, but how will you connect the Aria, which is all analogue with analogue output to the WiiM, which is all digital with digital only input connections? Clearly I'm missing something here.

If it's the model I think it is, it has one pair of RCA inputs so you can connect an analogue device. And my understanding is that it is Class D, not "digital".

With the HDMI ARC and sub out sockets, I reckon a pretty good 2.1 set up for your telly would be easy to put together.

That is what I was thinking. At the moment I have a relatively complicated setup for "2.0" from my TV. I'm using Bowers and Wilkins DM2a speakers, so no need for the "0.1" (). The WiiM could replace the Quad 520 amplifier I currently use, and make for a neater setup.
