What is it you don't like about the Norah Jones recording Steve? I assume you are referring to her debut album "Come Away with Me".
Perhaps you find it bland 'easy listening' and at odds with your image as a heavy metal, hard rock headbanger?![]()

I'm the same. I'm an Ed Banga. Norah Jones is too twee for me. But I understand the quality of the production and that for some it would be a reference.
But, music wise, its just not me.

It's interesting that the Norah Jones debut CD is often to be found in charity shops - along with those by Kate Melua; Duffy; Beverly Knight, and of course Mel C.
Apart from Mel C, whose work is unknown to me, I'm a fairly big fan of the others.

Yes that's what it is (he says, while hiding his collection of Carpenters albums)No, the album in question is called 'Feels Like Home', though the one you mention was also there, sandwiched between my Joe Jackson and Grace Jones albums. So that too has been added to my 'bound for the charity shop' pile.
The vinyl versions come in nice sturdy sleeves, ideal for skinning up on, said no one ever.
So now I own just one Norah Jones song, a duet she did with Ray Charles. I don't mind that.

The Corrs also appear quite a lot in charity shops and car boots.
You are most welcome to my Beverly Knight CDs Barry. It's not that I don't like her, but I do need to shed some titles that just don't get played. They are:
Who I Am
100%
Prodigal Sista.
I also have a copy of this (double CD - I complained about the quality of this and was sent another, but really this plays fine, just needs a new case)
Highly regarded album.

I beg to differ; I think you'll find i'm right on this one - I go round quite a few charity shops when i'm out and about and you really don't find much rock music in charity shops. What you do find is all the old throw away crap from things like Pop Idol, X-Factor and lots of the "boy band" and "girl band" (using the word "band" very loosely) rubbish that came out in the 90's. It's VERY RARE you see Guns N Roses, ACDC, Metallica, Motorhead, Sabbath, Judas Priest, Foo Fighters, Nirvana, The Cult and so on and so forth............... VERY RARE INDEED!!!! I've always believed quality counts!!!!
Macca Martin, I'm only about 9 miles from Staffordshire, in fact I was born in Staffordshire (then) but they changed the borders of what denotes Staffordshire and the W. Mids so now I'm in the W. Mids area according to the "so-called" powers that be!! Oh well, I'm from the Midlands and, just like those on TV who keep saying they're proud Yorkshiremen (and women) well, I'm a proud Midlander; be it W. Mids or Stafforshire!!!![]()
