This is her 7th studio album, of only nine albums spanning six decades. She has two Grammys both for duets, with Joe Cocker on “Up Where We Belong” and Bill Medley on “I’ve Had The Time Of My Life”.

An artist that might interest me. Apart from the obvious two duets, the only other song I'm aware of is her excellent cover of Leonard Cohen's "First we take Manhattan". So right now I've got Alexa "shuffling songs" by her before I go knocking on Music Magpie's door

Admittedly she is somewhat tarred by the commercial duets ! However, The Hunter and Famous Blue Raincoat albums are absolutely worth every penny and demonstrate what a great vocalist and recording artist she truly is.

Classic album. I've put a lot of people onto that over the years. No recollection how I discovered it to begin with. Think it's 1976 so way before my time.

How is it different to the original Tubular Bells (or from Tubular Bells 2, for that matter)?

I've never heard Tubular Bells 2, so cannot comment. This (3) has similarities to the original, but the sounds and beats are more on a par with much of the dance electronica of the 90s/noughties. A nice enough listen, but I wouldn't be paying full price for it. This was a £1 car boot jobbie.
