Do you own the Mike New bearing? I'm not so sure that the platter will work wih your Funk Firm spin bearing. You might want to check.

If a. Ike New platter fits a standard bearing, it will work on a spin, as it has the same geometry.

Yeah, Funk used a Mike New bearing to 'design' their one so it'll be fine. I owned the one they used
They may have used one in the design process, but AK told me the MN geometry did not match the original technics in the area the platter sits. When I had both, I never bothered to measure them to see if it was true.
Anyway, getting hold of a Mike New platter is going to be a challenge, IMHO.

A few years ago I and a few others on the forum were very active with Techie mods, working to help each other we made significant improvements at minimal cost. We always tried to back up our improvements with technical measurement or oscilloscope photos.
You can make a significant difference to the technics platter by carefully covering the bottom and outer underside side rib with Dynamat.
I did that mod a few years ago and included in my post at that time, with photographs of an oscilloscope screen showing the before and after effects on the damping performance of the platter.
Having done many mods to Technics TT over the years this one gave me best Bang for my Bucks.
Ill have a look in my photo archives and see if I still have them.

This is why it was always better to buy the whole setup of Mike New bearing, collar plate and platter. Expensive, but at least everything was designed to work together. Virtually all collar plates were bonded to the inner chassis, good luck better the bearing out once this was done. Finding these components is going to be virtually impossible unless they come up for sale.
Times have changed and people have moved away from the 1210. It's probably been a year since mine last had a spin. I think the 120 got pushed as far as it could and probably that's why people got bored. Aside from changing platter mats and footers just about every mod had been tried.
