Morning all, it's been awhile. My early mornings have been taken up with of all things, binge watching the Netflix series Billions, a series that didn't appeal to my better half (hence the early morning watching) which was a pity as it is a great TV drama with twists and turns a plenty ! Anyway this post is about spinning not witching and I start the day as usual with cd and this excellent double album from one of my all time favourite rock bands. I have this album on the 2 LP version a late 70's pressing, the original 2 cd release and the later 2 cd remastered version which is playing now. The remastered version is certainly better and closer in overall balance to the vinyl pressing with much better detail and definition than the original cd version. My first introduction to Genesis was post Gabriel material, Trick of the Tail, so the earlier tracks on here I first discovered as Collins vocals. Genesis was also one my first rock concerts too, in April 1980, on the Duke tour at the ABC Theatre Blackpool. Subsequent tours would be arena and stadiums as Duke was to catapult them to becoming one of the biggest bands of the 80's and early 90's. Thier 2007 reunion tour, Turn It On Again, having one of the most elaborate and expensive stage and lighting rigs ever created at an estimated cost of £11 million, a total of 48 shows, with the audience at the free Rome concert estimated at over 500,000 !
