So how would you describe the music played in some supermarkets? Personally, most of the time I find it either very annoying, or easy to ignore at other times.
Can't really comment on the work of Orbit, save to say I don't really like it and have none of their material.

I first saw The Orb at Glastonbury in '93 - they really didn't sound like anything we'd heard before, that combined with trouser flapping bass from their huge sound system made quite an impression. Re. the supermarketmusic: I think we should remember we are not like the average joe when it comes to listening to music - the supermarket bosses will have had their people look into background music and shoppers, and what we hear is the result of that. Many times I've heard shoppers singing along to these tunes, often crap that back in the day I would have been embarrassed to ask for in a record shop.
I don't expect to hear 'Been Caught Stealing' by Jane's Addiction, and Napalm Death probably wouldn't make Asda's playlist either.
