You don't get much Steve Earle here, which is a shame. I think associations with country music put some folk off.

One of the tracks (Johnny Come Lately) was actually performed with The Pogues, though Shane didn't sing, just played banjo. You've prompted me to stick this on, an album I can heartily recommend. Though you probably have the highlights on your CD, so...

I will amit that a lot of country and western music is cloyingly sentimental and mawkish, but not all. I take all performers on their own merits, so for example: Steve Earl, and Linda Ronstadt.

It’s just one of a number of records , which I would like to compare with the current one that I have in the collection, most remastered versions sound better than the original but not all.

I thought you might be after a MOFI one, there are some NM ones on Discogs from EU which are cheaper than when it was new, so might be worth a go.
