Format: 2 x CD, Compilation, Remastered
    Country: Europe
    Released: Nov 14, 2014
    Genre: Electronic, Rock, Pop
    Style: Experimental, Alternative Rock

This is an excellent compilation of the sadly late and great David Bowie's work. In fact it is all the Bowie I could ever want.

    And the second:

    Lou Reed – 'Berlin'

    Label: RCA – ND84388
    Format: CD, Album, Reissue
    Country: UK & Europe
    Released: Jun 1986
    Genre: Rock

Starts off with a sort of Kurt Weil-esqe homage: 'Berlin', then reverts to the Lou reed I know and love. This album is darker than some of his others, and I'm still coming to terms with it. But that will be interesting and enjoyable task.

So once again thank you Steve for your generous gifts.
Just glad they finally found you Post Office certainly dragged their heels this time.

Duran Duran - Danse Macabre. New album from one of Birmingham's finest; featuring contributions from original guitarist Andy Taylor, (who is sadly fighting terminal prostate cancer) second guitarist Warren Cuccurullo, Nile Rogers and many other people. The album presents an unusual set of songs done in different ways and is quite listenable; nothing they do now or in the future will ever top the first album, Rio or The Wedding Album (IMHO) but this new album is OK................. still not the best but, an easy listen.

So first up an album that you know is great but you forget just how great it is !

This, his third solo album, was released in 1995 and features collaborations with Steve Winwood and Noel Gallagher as well as long time collaborators Steve Cradock and Steve White.

In 1998 Q Magazine readers voted it the 46th greatest album of all time !

Next up an artist discovered from a review of this very album in Hi-Fi News & Record Review.

Released in 1994, this is his second studio album and is often thought of as his debut album, although he had released his first album under his birth name Kevin Moore in 1980 so this album was hardly following hot on the heels of his debut album Rainmaker !

Described as Delta Blues and Country Blues the album is simply a joy from start to finish, great vocals and great playing with a mix of songs written by Keb on his own and some with Georgina Graper and a couple of others by the legendary Robert Johnson.

Last up and vinyl this time. Not a great collector of compilation albums, this one from 1983 covers many of this artists most well know early pieces.

His famous composer father (Maurice Jarre) is quoted as saying of his sons music, "elevator music", they were estranged for most of the time up to his fathers death in 2009.

Jean-Michel was the first Western artist to officially be invited to play in the People's Republic of China and holds the world record for the largest ever audience at an outdoor event for his Moscow concert on the 6th of September in 1997 attended by 3.5 million people !
