Now that the recent wind and rain has caused the horse chestnut pods to fall, as is my wont, I went out to see if I could find any large ones.

Well the only decent-sized one I could find weighed 34.7g:




It beats my previous 2021 find weighing 33.7g:

What a great way to get out for some fresh air and exercise! And I always liked a bit of foraging So I'm getting out there this weekend to see if I can beat your conker, if I can find some suitable scales that is... I know we had some here somewhere.

woke up this morning with 'Comfortably Numb' stuck in my head.

Odd, since I don't own a copy of 'The Wall' and haven't in over 20 years. I have the film on DVD but sure I have not watched it in over a decade.

Maybe the last time I heard the song was on Planet Rock months ago.

On top of that I seem to know all the lyrics and every note of the solos.

I wish my brain was that good with useful stuff.

I have "The Wall" on vinyl and CD - you're welcome to the CD, but I suspect if you really wanted it you would have bought it by now (unless like me your brain goes comfortably numb as soon as you step in a record shop).

My brain is comfortably numb most of the time, I suppose that could be seen as a feature not a bug.

I should get a copy as I do like a lot if it, just the cod opera bit irritates me. I'll do you a swap for 'Argus' on vinyl.

Just annoying that at work I forget passwords, codes to get in the doors, critical tasks I need to do, important meetings (leaving me with five minutes to prep) and yet I can replay in my head a song I have not heard in ages word for word and note for note.

Yeah, that's called getting your priorities right, and long may it continue. if your brain worked the other way round you probably wouldn't have any mates, though your boss might like you.

Requested my medical history from my GP 2 months ago, arrived today, everything is there, but you know doctors handwriting, I can barely read a thing.

Still the blood test results are in type form, so that's interesting. Doctors were looking at reasons why my red blood cell count/haemaglobin was low, and I've always been that way, saw a blood test from 2001. Would have saved them and me a load of bother if they'd have just checked my medical history like wot I just done!!
