Next up another album that rarely sees the light of day from a fellow Canadian (of K D Lang, I mean ) !

I first saw her live in 1998 at the Wigan Jazz Festival, she was little known in the UK at the time, although Sir Michael Parkinson was certainly responsible for raising her profile and even scooped live on air in 2003 the announcement of her engagement to British New Wave legend Declan MacManus, they married later that year at Elton John's home in Windsor.

This her second album released in 1995, recorded at the Power Station NY, Krall being more than ably accompanied by a who's who of the Jazz world - Ray Brown, Christian McBride, Lewis Nash and Stanley Turrentine. Produced by Tony LiPuma, recorded by the legend that is Al Schmitt and mastered by another legend Doug Sax.

Last up we go to the vinyl version of one of the legendary albums from this artist and of the 1970's. This, his fifth album, released in 1972 was to go on to sell double Platinum in the UK and give us the iconic tracks Starman, Suffragette City and Rock 'n' Roll Sucide. The album was engineered by Ken Scott (No not the Scottish actor - Rebus, Balin etc,.), who is perhaps somewhat overlooked despite having worked with The Beatles, Elton John, Supertramp, Kansas, Duran Duran, Jeff Beck, Level 42 and Pink Floyd to name but a few !

It might be his 5th LP, but as far as I'm concerned it is the first.
Excellent LP, and only matched by the later 'Scary Monsters'.

I agree; it's a sad trait of sections of the human race!!! Unfortunately, the idiosyncrasies of the human race will always cause problems and/or conflict.

Well this morning starts with an album I have to admit I can't remember when it was last played but some considerable time ago. Strangely neither the album or any of the tracks are on my phone library so it hasn't been played in the car or on the JBL Flip on a beach or terrace on holiday either !

This album released in 1992 was nominated for 6 Grammy's wining Best Female Pop Performance for Constant Craving. The album sold Platinum in New Zealand and the UK whilst going double Platinum in Australia, Canada and the US

The songs, arrangements, musicianship, engineering and vocals are sublime.

I bought this at a car boot a few years ago, and wasn't expecting much. How wrong I was. Brilliant album, quickly became one of my favourites. Everyone should have this in their collection
