Hmm, that raises a question, how thick does the vinyl need to be? I seem to remember reading something about 'dynaflex' in the 70's, which might have been due to an oil crisis - am I misremembering? I do recall some Bowie albums that were very thin.

I have only one LP on Dynaflex, it is pretty thin. They make out in the blurb that it's a huge leap forward in SQ but needless to say it isn't because how could it be?

How do you compare though without owning two different copies?

The only LP I ever bought twice was '461 Ocean Boulevard'. Replaced a CBS 'Nice Price' version with an NM original pressing gatefold. The original pressing sounds quite a lot better.

Saw them in my youth (King Crimson that is - went with my brother who is older and he bought all the original records and still has them) and can say that they are still awesome today.
Wish I had bought them then but listened to my brothers so don't own any on vinyl, only on CD or digital files

Just so thin so they can be etched? Dunno. One thing when shopping on ebay, I largely stay clear of 'Buy it nows', and just wait for an item to come up at auction, they often do within a few weeks. Also stay clear of sellers who describe items as 'mega rare', they usually aren't!

Loads of mega rare stuff about, common as muck.

I've bought loads of records and CDs twice over the years, never on purpose Last time was two Christmases ago, so I am getting better. The exception was Sade - I must have bought six or seven copies of Diamond Life until I got one that was good enough to replace my original.

Only got that one on CD but it is the original 1980s release.

I'm always buying duplicate CDs, for the simple reason I forget what I already have. But since they were often bought for 50p or less, I just donate them to another charity shop.

done this a few times, including films. becomes annoying so i have a list on my phone of blurays now on an app...

I can't be bothered to enter the details of up to 3,000 CDs into a data base. It would take ages.
