To be serious this thing works particularly well with digital equipment, but not so sure of its effect with analogue. I was shocked what it did with my humble digital system. It really was a night and day effect and I was deeply sceptical it would do anything.

This device was from the Chord cable company not Chord electronics so nothing to do with Mr Watts etc.

Are 'Chord' and 'Chord Cable' separate businesses? I have tried some Chord cable (something called Tuned ARRY (?)), and found them to be the only RCA phono terminated cables where I could hear a definite, but subtle, difference that was repeatable and distinct.

Like Gary, my system largely uses balanced-line connections. Some of these use cable marked "WWW.CHORD CABLE.COM". Can't say I've noticed any difference between those and other cables using either Klotz, Mogami, EMT, Neumann or Gotham.

Yes Chord electronics and Chord Cables are separate businesses.

I have tried many of Chord cables top end ICs (RCA) and some are definitely very good indeed but unfortunately too expensive for my wallet!

Ah - thanks for that James. One other question are the Chord Cables made in China, or are they European?

Going back to the Tuned ARRY (?) cables, they were on loan from someone who used Naim equipment, cost a couple of hundred quid, so we couldn't open them up to see how they were made. But we did have them x-rayed. They use two separate coaxial cables, wired 'shotgun', with the screens connected together at one end only, which makes them directional. We tried to duplicate the construction, but with limited success.

The cables I have are marked: WWW.CHORDCABLE.COM , along with arrows suggesting they are directional.

I suspect they are Chinese. Got them from a recording studio terminated in XLRs, along with a pile of other cables, all for about a fiver, so shouldn't complain.
