well most of the highlands are great if weather is decent. further south, the trossachs, loch lomond, stirling etc are pretty good. stirling jail is really interesting and has a real high wall lol. its an old jail of course and quite central. the castle there is good as is edinburghs'.
lots of distillery tours which are great if your not driving.. up the A9 there are lots of interesting and beautiful spots. the falkirk wheel is worth a visit too.
pitlochry is a nice spot too, and not far up...

I have been to Glencoe many years ago, small hotel with very old fashioned service - lovely.And if spectacular scenery is your thing, I'd recommend starting at Loch Lomond, up through The Trossachs National Park to Tyndrum for an expensive brew and a butty at the Green Welly Stop, before heading to Fort William via Glencoe. Just fantastic

Haha yes definitely warm clothes and may not camp as my friend tried this and had their tent completely destroyed. But I must say with Climate change upon us it maybe the perfect place to go now if you don't like roasting to death.
